MENDELSON
JOE
Mendelson Joe is a Canadian artistic tour
de force. Prolific as a musician/songwriter/performing
artist, M. Joe is best known for his colourful
output as an iconic painter of most original
landscapes and portraits. He is literally
a group of one in a class by himself.
Joe's paintings are collected by some of Canada's
most prominent art patrons, including media
visionary Moses Znaimer, rock musician
Neil Peart, philanthropist M. Joan Chalmers,
and famed children's entertainer Raffi Cavoukian.
In 2005, Toronto publisher ECW Press published
Joe's third book, a collection of fifty portraits
titled Joe's Toronto.
Mendelson Joe sees the world with clarity,
shares his vision with us through his art
[...]. He is fearless and radical. As someone
who has felt his bite in my ass, I know how
important he is.
